Mowbray waits on injured trio Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray is hoping for good news on the injury front as he prepares for the visit of Bolton in the npower Championship.
Central defender Jonathan Woodgate, who missed Tuesday night's 2-0 win over Hull suffering the after-effects of his return at Brighton on Saturday, is expected to be back. There could also be places in the squad for full-back Justin Hoyte and midfielder Merouane Zemmama.
Hoyte has missed the last two games with a hamstring problem while Zemmama has been absent from the last three with a similar injury. Midfielder Kevin Thomson faces another week on the sidelines with a calf strain while Lukas Jutkiewicz, Muzzy Carayol and Curtis Main (all knee) and Rhys Williams (ankle ligaments) remain on the long-term casualty list. Bolton caretaker manager Jimmy Phillips may name an unchanged XI for his final game at the helm against his former club.
Phillips hands over the reins to new boss Dougie Freedman next week having taken four points from two games since Owen Coyle was sacked. Last weekend's 3-2 comeback win over Bristol City was followed by Mark Davies' injury-time leveller at Wolves in midweek and those exertions have not left Wanderers worse for wear in the treatment room
"We've actually got a clean bill of health from the other night so we've got a full squad to pick from apart from the long-term injuries," said Phillips.
That list now includes Andy Longeran after the ex-Preston and Leeds goalkeeper underwent surgery this week to repair cartilage damage sustained in training. Fellow knee-injury victims Stuart Holden, David Wheater and Josh Vela are also out long-term despite the former's return to light training duties this week.
