Richardson still out for Boro

Frazer Richardson is unlikely to be given his Middlesbrough debut against Accrington in the Capital One Cup.

The 30-year-old right-back signed late on Friday night but not in time to feature in Saturday's Championship defeat at home to Leicester and is still not match fit.

Boss Tony Mowbray is unlikely to make too many changes given the small nature of his squad and he is desperate to strengthen.

Seb Hines (knee) is the only player occupying the treatment room.

James Beattie will have the same squad to select from as he tries to get his first win as Accrington boss.

The former England striker had a baptism of fire in his first game since his appointment last May when Stanleywere beaten 4-1 by Football League newcomers Newport on Saturday.

Beattie has a fully-fit squad to select from and may chose to make alterations following such a heavy defeat.

The likes of striker Shay McCartan, midfielder Piero Mingoia and defender Dean Winnard will all be hoping to feature after starting on the bench in Wales at the weekend.
