Emanuel Pogatez spilled blood for the Middlesbrough cause again after taking another hit to the head at the Riverside.

The Austrian hard-nut played with a protective mask against Forest, despite having only just recovered from a fractured cheekbone, but admitted he felt 'embarrassed' at needing pitchside treatment for yet another bloody wound.

'The lads have been giving me a bit of stick, saying I should cover myself in Vaseline before I go on to the pitch!' said Pogatetz. 

'I feel a little bit embarrassed that I had to go off again forstitches. I was just happy that this time I was able to come back on.'

Leroy Lita put Boro ahead after just five minutes, volleying inafter Forest goalkeeper Lee Camp parried Julio Arca's shot. RobertEarnshaw levelled for Forest with a free-kick in the 73rd minute andboss Billy Davies said: 'I was disappointed with the first 45 minutes.It was the poorest we've played in a very long time - we were theirbest player!'.
