McDonald shuns Bhoys return

Middlesbrough striker Scott McDonald has rubbished suggestions that he could return to Celtic at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old Australia international scored four times in 12 appearances for Boro following a £3.5million move from Scotland in January and is focused on making a success of things on Teesside.

He told the Evening Gazette: "I was asked if I would ever go back to Celtic and I love the club, so I would never say never.

"But I wasn't referring to any time in the near future. I'm loving it with Middlesbrough and I'm only focused on helping the club win promotion next season.

"Any suggestion that I'd want to leave already is just ridiculous. It's not entered my head at all that I could be going anywhere else this summer."
