Loyal Wheater won't jump ship if Middlesbrough are relegated

David Wheater says he will not quit Middlesbrough, even if they are relegated. The England hopeful, who has been called up twice by Fabio Capello, would even be willing to put his international ambitions on hold to help Boro back into the top flight. Wheater, who faces Manchester United at the Riverside today, said: 'My position won't change if we go down. I've got two more years after this season and, if the worst was to happen, I'd want to stay. 'I'll only leave if the manager wants to sell me or if he accepts a bid from another club. 'I'm happy here and, if we were to go down, I'd be confident that we'd get straight back up. 'It would be harder to be picked for England while playing in the Championship, but I'm only 22.'
