Gordon Strachan has bolstered his attacking options by bringing Stoke City striker Dave Kitson to Middlesbrough on a two-month loan agreement.
The 29-year-old has struggled to settle at Stoke City since his £5.5million transfer from Reading in the summer of 2008, scoring only three times in 29 appearances for Tony Pulis' side.
The former Cambridge United star even returned to Reading on loan last season.
Strachan said of his latest capture: "I'm delighted Dave is coming in to bolster the squad's numbers and give us more options.
"I've been a fan of Dave's for a few years now. He is a good striker and another player for us to call on."
Kitson added: "I'm happy to be here and excited to be part of it. I'll do my best and hopefully that will be enough to keep the club in the top positions.
"I've not had a chance to see any of Middlesbrough's games but I know they've got some great talent in the squad so I'm looking forward to it."
