King backs Boro to stay up

Marlon King has no doubt that there is enough quality in the current Middlesbrough squad to pull clear of the relegation zone. Since winning at Aston Villa in early Novermber, Boro have secured only four points from ten matches and are currently in the bottom three. However King, who moved to Teesside on loan from Wigan Athletic this month, has been impressed with what he has seen of the squad boss Gareth Southgate has put together. He told the Evening Gazette: "I'm enjoying it here. The lads have been great and helped me to settle in quickly. "The gaffer asked me to come here for the challenge and I'm happy to accept it. I will knuckle down and give 110 per cent for Middlesbrough. "First and foremost, it's about survival in the Premier League. Everybody knows that's important. We will get results if we work hard for each other. "We are capable of scoring goals all around the team. Nobody in this league is unbeatable. You look at the teams losing points. "Southend gave Chelsea a going over the other day before Chelsea's quality came through in the end. "The one thing you mustn't do is give teams too much respect because, if you do that, they will take advantage of you. The manager and the boys know that. "If necessary we will have to grind out results in an ugly way. But there is a lot of quality here. It will shine through if we work hard for each other."
