Kayserispor drop interest in Mido

Mido is still a Middlesbrough player after a proposed loan switch to Turkish side Kayserispor fell through.

The Egypt international, who was also linked with a transfer to Ajax earlier in the summer, has been told he has no future at the Riverside Stadium but Boro are struggling to get him off their books.

A move to Turkey seemed the most likely option for Mido, only for Kayserispor spokesman Suleyman Hurma to say: "It took Mido around two months to consider our offer, which is a very long time.

"Now he comes without invitation after buying the plane tickets himself.

"We are not going to sign a player with such (an arrogant) attitude. I hope this will be a lesson for him."

Mido is under contract with Boro for another year.
