Adam Johnson believes the FA Cup can help turn Middlesbrough's miserable season around.[LNB] Gareth Southgate's team are currently second from bottom in the Premier League table but the 21-year-old winger is hoping a run in the cup will lift the spirits of the players and fans.[LNB]Boro will travel to Upton Park to face West Ham on Saturday where the winner will secure a place in the sixth round.[LNB]"All the lads are really looking forward to West Ham. We got a good win in the last round at Wolves and in the cup the pressure is off," Johnson said.[LNB]Tough"We have created chances in league games and not taken them, but perhaps in the cup we can. A victory there would be a great win considering how well they are doing.[LNB]"West Ham didn't have a good start under Zola, but they are on a great run now and it will be tough, but anything can happen in the cup."[LNB]Despite their lowly position in the Premier League, Johnson claims that team spirit is still high and the players are determined to avoid relegation from the top flight.[LNB]"If we win we are not far from the final. It would be great to have a cup run and stay in the Premier League, both for the fans and the players," he added.[LNB]Morale"The fans enjoy cup football and the players want to win trophies. Morale in the camp is good and if you saw us train you would not think we were in the league position that we are in.[LNB]"Everybody is behind the manager and working hard. The manager tries to take the blame for us but it's down to the players on a Saturday. We just need that elusive win and we would like it this weekend."[LNB]Johnson feels he is playing the best football of his career so far after scoring a beautiful volley in England Under 21s' defeat to Ecuador in Malaga.[LNB]He said: "It was the best goal of my career, and it's good to get away with England for a spell."[LNB]"But I also feel that I'm playing the best football I have played for Boro. I enjoy being in the side for a run of games, and while it's not always easy playing for a side that isn't winning we want to change that."[LNB]
