Mark Schwarzer admits he hopes Middlesbrough avoid the drop as the goalkeeper returns to the Riverside for the first time since his move to Fulham last summer. Schwarzer played 367 games during an 11-year career at Boro that included winning the League Cup and reaching the final of the UEFA Cup. But the Australian goes back to Middlesbrough tomorrow knowing that a Fulham win will seriously add to his former club's relegation plight. He said: 'It's going to be very strange for me. I had some greattimes at Middlesbrough. It would have been much better going back withBoro in a better position. Hopefully, they can stay up.' Fulham defender Brede Hangeland, a possible summer target for Arsenal and Liverpool, is to be offered a new contract.
