Huth setback rocks Boro

13 January 2007 10:39
Middlesbrough central defender Robert Huth is set to be sidelined for at least another month due to a foot injury. The 22-year-old Germany international has not featured since scoring in the 2-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur on December 5 and Boro boss Gareth Southgate doesn't expect Huth to return in the immediate future. He told the club's official website; "Robert's not progressing very well and it looks like he's had another setback. "He needs another scan, but I don't expect him to be back playing for some time, certainly not in the next six weeks." Huth has been restricted to just ten appearances for Boro since his £6million move from Chelsea at the end of August. Meanwhile, Southgate has confirmed that he still believes that midfielder Fabio Rochemback has a future at the club, despite being linked with a return to Sporting Lisbon. "We've had contact from Lisbon about taking Fabio on loan, but nothing concrete," Southgate added." I don't really want him to go. "I think he's a talented player. He's not in the team at the moment, but like all players when they are not in the team, I'd like them to stay and fight for their place." Rochemback moved to the Riverside in the summer of 2005, but has scored just three goals in 47 appearances for the Teessiders.
