Hornets move for Helguson

Watford look set to beat a number of clubs, including Middlesbrough, to sign former favourite Heidar Helguson, skysports.com understands. The 32-year-old Icelandic international is currently at Queens Park Rangers, but manager Jim Magilton is ready to let him leave. A host of clubs have shown an interest, but it appears Watford are favourites to land him. Helguson had a six-year spell at Vicarage Road when they brought him to England from Lillestrom in 1999. He has since enjoyed spells with Fulham, Bolton and QPR, but he is now on the move again. Middlesbrough, looking for a target man, had shown an interest but it seems Watford are ready to hold off the competition and secure him on loan.
