Preston goalkeeper Wayne Henderson has dismissed rumours suggesting he could be set to join Middlesbrough.[LNB] Having lost Ross Turnbull to Chelsea, Boro are likely to venture into the transfer market to look for a new shot-stopper.[LNB]Henderson's name has been mentioned as a possible option but the Republic of Ireland international insists he is focused solely on winning his Preston place back after an injury-plagued couple of years.[LNB]He told skysports.com: "I'm flattered to be linked with such a big club, but I'm not really sure where it has come from. [LNB]"You see a lot of stories flying around at this time of year, but I hope that it doesn't affect how the manager looks at me because I am fully committed to Preston and desperate to be part of his plans.[LNB]"I have never worked with a manager quite as methodical and fantastic as Alan Irvine is, so I can't wait to play for him because during the two years he has been here I've not really played for him.[LNB]Raring to go"I've achieved quite a lot personally, having played for my country, and I was probably at the height of my career so far when I picked up the injury. [LNB]"I'd got in ahead of Andy Lonergan here and things were looking great, but since the injury he has had two fantastic seasons. [LNB]"I'm fit and raring to go and hopefully I can challenge Andy once again for that spot between the sticks."[LNB]Having made a return to the international scene last season, the 25-year-old has one eye on a potential World Cup place should Republic of Ireland qualify for South Africa.[LNB]"I'm very happy here and I am definitely not looking for a move away from the club, but I do want to be playing regularly next season because I'd love to be part of the Ireland national setup, with the World Cup next summer," he explained. [LNB]"I've got one year left on my current deal and I want to impress both the gaffer here and the national coach, so hopefully I can show that I am back to my best next season."[LNB]
