Radoslaw Majewski's first Nottingham Forest goal saw the east midlands club progress to the Carling Cup third round for the first time in five years as Coca-Cola Championship rivals Middlesbrough were beaten 2-1 after extra time at the City Ground. The Poland international, on loan from Groclin, struck towards the end of the first period of extra time for the four-time winners of the League Cup. In normal time, Luke Chambers cancelled out Adam Johnson's opening goal for the visitors. It was the first time Boro have been beaten in what has been an impressive start to the season for Gareth Southgate's side.
