Middlesbrough winger Stewart Downing hopes Boro's FA Cup success can provide the platform for Premier League safety.[LNB] The Teessiders reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup with an impressive 2-0 replay win over West Ham on Wednesday night.[LNB]And Downing now wants that form to continue against Liverpool on Saturday as Gareth Southgate's side looks for a first league win in 15 games to climb out of the relegation zone.[LNB]"We have built the confidence up. We got a great result last night and the consistency needs to continue," said the England international.[LNB]Massive"Now is a massive time in the season for us. It was a great result last night and it's a bonus for us getting into the next round. But the big game is Saturday."[LNB]Liverpool got their own lift on Wednesday night when they won 1-0 at Real Madrid in the Champions League.[LNB]The Reds need another win at the Riverside Stadium if they are to maintain any pressure on league leaders Manchester United.[LNB]But Downing believes a repeat of Boro's performance against the Hammers will give them a chance of reviving their survival hopes.[LNB]He added: "It's a big test for us. But if we play like that I have got no worries about us getting a result.[LNB]"Maybe we can bring them back down to earth. Maybe they will come here and under-estimate us and get punished.[LNB]"Hopefully they do and we get the result we need. They have to win, there's no doubt about it. A draw is no good for them. But we want to win as well."[LNB]
