Middlesbrough winger Adam Johnson provided yet more evidence as to why a host of Premier League clubs are chasing his signature and why keeping him at The Riverside is so crucial to Gordon Strachan's faint promotion hopes.[LNB]The England Under 21 international, out of contract at the end of the season and subject of a £6million bid from Wolves this month, had the top clubs' scouts salivating after his match-winning display in his side's vital win at Doncaster.[LNB]Chelsea, Manchester City, Everton and Sunderland have joined Mick McCarthy in following the progress of Stewart Downing's successor at the Riverside and, with an army of scouts in attendance, he duly scored two to take his season's tally to 12.[LNB] Premier class: Adam Johnson (R) showed his quality with two goals for Boro[LNB]He planted one ferocious shot into the top corner after half an hour and drilled an unstoppable free-kick past Neil Sullivan in injury-time.
