Digard fitness boost

Middlesbrough midfielder Didier Digard is expected to be fit for the start of pre-season training after an injury-hit first season on Teesside. The 22-year-old Frenchman is due to return to Rockliffe Park with the rest of his team-mates on Monday ready to begin preparations for the new campaign after missing the end of the last with a groin problem. Digard, a £4million signing from Paris St Germain last summer, made a good start to his career in England before locking horns with one of the men he was bought to replace, Lee Cattermole. The Wigan midfielder's rugged challenge left the France Under-21 international sidelined for three months with nasty knee and thigh injuries. He returned in April, but then picked up a groin problem in training and was forced to look on helplessly as Boro slipped out of the Barclays Premier League.
