Middlesbrough new boy Robert Huth has admitted that he had concerns that his switch from Chelsea would not go through before the transfer window closed on Thursday.
The 22-year-old Germany international was finally confirmed as a Boro player just minutes before midnight and he is happy to have the chance to make his mark at The Riverside.
He told Sky Sports News: "We thought the deal was done on Thursday morning and I went out to a training session with them.
"When I got back it was to say that a document wasn't there, so it was a very tense and nervous day.
"I did manage to speak to (Chelsea chief executive) Peter Kenyon. Obviously we knew he was going to be busy. He assured us everything was done, it was just a matter of time and I'm happy it all got through.
"When it gets to 9, 10 o'clock, 11 o'clock, you think that it is literally one document and to make us wait that long was unfortunate.
"I understand they were busy, but at the end of the day everyone is happy. I'm here, they got their players, so everyone involved is happy."
