Middlesbrough loanee Andrew Davies wants to earn a permanent contract at The Riverside. The 26-year-old defender, a Boro academy graduate, is back on Teesside on loan from Stoke having failed to start a league match in almost three seasons since his £1million move to the Potters. He told the club's official website: "I think the manager is fantastic. I like the way he works and the way he trains. I want to be part of what Tony is trying to do here. Middlesbrough is in my blood and I want to come back to the club so much." Davies suffered a hamstring injury against QPR last month but hopes to be back in action against Leicester next week. He added: "It's a big month coming up. If I can play a part, if I am needed, then I'll be happy."
