Boss Billy Davies was pleased to get his first win of the season under his belt as Nottingham Forest set up a Carling Cup second-round tie at home to Middlesbrough by beating Bradford 3-0 at the City Ground. Davies, whose side began the Championship campaign with a goalless draw at Reading, was delighted with the manner Forest broke the resolve of a stubborn Bradford team with a display of attacking second-half football. Nathan Tyson laid on goals for Paul Anderson and Dexter Blackstock before Lewis McGugan completed the scoring. "There is always a press line or two when a manager is still looking for his first win or his first away win. We have been there before so it is good to get that first win and a second clean sheet," said Davies. "I said before the game that it will be tough because these cup matches never are easy. We knew we would have to be patient and I thought that, in the second period, we scored some great goals and produced some excellent passing moves. "In the end it was a very good performance and result. It was another very good clean sheet, which we can be pleased with."
