Danny Coyne insisted his decision to swap Tranmere for Middlesbrough was a "no-brainer" after he moved to the Riverside Stadium on a free transfer. The Wales international goalkeeper Danny Coyne will challenge current number one Brad Jones and youngster Jason Steele for a place in the first team after accepting a two-year deal. Coyne, 35, told Boro's official website: "Leaving Tranmere was a hard decision, but joining Middlesbrough was a no-brainer for me. "I came up and met the manager [Gareth Southgate] and goalkeeper coach Stephen Pears, saw the training facilities and made my mind up. "Gareth has told he wants us to win the Championship and get the club back in the Premier League where we belong. I have played most of my career in this division, so I know it very well and I think we have got every chance of going up."
