Cowie in confident mood

Watford midfielder Don Cowie admits he and his team-mates cannot wait to get back into action ahead of Saturday's trip to Middlesbrough. The Hornets have made a solid start to the season but they are still smarting from a 4-0 defeat by Cardiff last time out after a virus had swept through the camp. Cowie, who made his Scotland debut against Japan last weekend, said: "In the last month and a half we've played very well. "We lost against Coventry when I felt we were the better side but we threw it away. To go into the Cardiff game and get well beaten was a sore one, then you find yourself 15th in the league when we'd been knocking on the door of the top six. "That's why we are very eager to get going again. The majority of the boys have had a good break and now we are confident for the next period of games."
