Coventry v Boro preview

25 September 2009 13:30
Middlesbrough look to bounce back from their hammering at the hands of West Bromwich Albion as they travel to Coventry City. Third placed Boro have never played at the Ricoh Arena in the league and they will be looking for all three points. Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman is waiting to hear on the fitness of Isaac Osbourne. Osbourne has sustained a knee injury and did not train on Thursday, and Coleman is going to give him a fitness test before naming his side. Icelandic starlet Aron Gunnarsson is waiting in the wings to come in and replace Osbourne. Elliott Ward is fully recovered from a knee problem and is hoping for a recall, but the game may come too early for left-back Patrick van Aanholt. James McPake and David Bell are definitely out. Boro newsMiddlesbrough are boosted by the return of influential midfielder Gary O'Neil. O'Neil was sidelined for last week's West Brom drubbing and was sorely missed. He is likely to come in for Mark Yeates. Jeremie Aliadiere, who was forced off early against West Brom, has been declared fit and he too is likely to be in the starting line-up. Skipper Emanuel Pogatetz and midfielder Didier Digard both came through a reserve match in midweek, but neither will be risked this week. Andrew Taylor will be sidelined for six weeks with his ankle injury, whilst Chris Riggott and Matthew Bates remain long-term absentees.
