Confusion over Alves transfer
MIDDLESBROUGH have denied that Afonso Alves has completed his transfer to Al-Sadd despite the Qatari club's website claiming the player was unveiled at a press conference last night.[LNB] Alves is pictured on the Al-Sadd official club website under the headline 'Afonso will play for Al-Sadd for the next three years.' The report claims that the Brazilian striker took part in a press conference at the club on Thursday evening. He is pictured sporting an Al-Sadd scarf and wearing club's the number seven shirt.[LNB] A Middlesbrough club spokesman, however, has confirmed that the deal has not been completed.[LNB]
