Cobblers snap up Walker on loan

Northampton Town have signed Middlesbrough midfielder Josh Walker on loan until January.The 20-year-old captained England at Under-16 and Under-19 levels, and had loan spells at Bournemouth and Aberdeen before a Premiership debut in January. [LNB]Cobblers' manager Ian Sampson told the club's website: "I think he will prove a great acquisition. [LNB]"Technically he has a lot of ability and he is really looking forward to showing what he can do." [LNB]Sampson added: "I didn't think he would be available but the chairman has done very well for us and Middlesbrough have also helped us out as well." [LNB]"He is a player I have known about for a couple of years and with (Northampton assistant coach) Malcolm Crosby coming in, he has just backed up my view of Josh." [LNB]Crosby arrived at Sixfields after five years with Middlesborough under Steve McLaren and Gareth Southgate.
