Chelsea hope to end a summer of frustration by clinching the signing of AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato. The Blues have already been snubbed by Kaka and look set to miss out on Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery, Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero, Valencia's David Villa and former Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez. And despite Milan insisting that Pato was going nowhere and would be offered a new contract, his former San Siro boss Carlo Ancelotti is determined to take him to Stamford Bridge. Reports in Italy say Chelsea will offer up to £51million for the 19-year-old as Ancelotti looks to add some flair to the squad. The£18m signing of Yuri Zhirkov from CSKA Moscow should be finalised in the next few days with the expectation that he will be presented at Stamford Bridge on Monday with former Manchester City striker Daniel Sturridge and goalkeeper Ross Turnbull, who is expected to join from Middlesbrough. Meanwhile, Blackburn Rovers chairman JohnWilliams has confirmed the club want to sign Chelsea youngster Francodi Santo following the sales of Roque Santa Cruz to Manchester City and Matt Derbyshire to Olympiakos.
