West Bromwich Albion moved to the top of the Championship while Mark Robins failed to spark an immediate upturn in Barnsley's fortunes. Middlesbrough ensured Roy Keane continues to struggle at Ipswich Town and Sheffield United maintained their unbeaten start to the season. Marek Cech scored a goal in each half as West Brom came from behind to beat Plymouth Argyle 3-1 at the Hawthorns. Jeremie Aliadiere was another player to help himself to a brace as Middlesbrough eased to a 3-1 victory at home to struggling Ipswich. Robins' first match since becoming Barnsley boss ended in defeat as Danny Graham's second-half goal earned Watford a 1-0 win at Vicarage Road. An 80th minute header from Matthew Kilgallon enabled Sheffield United to win 1-0 at Derby and end the hosts' 100 per cent record at Pride Park. Matt Fryatt grabbed a goal either side of half-time as Leicester City beat Blackpool 2-1 to ensure an unhappy return to the Walkers Stadium for Ian Holloway. Peterborough United are still looking for a first win of the campaign after Queens Park Rangers battled back for a 1-1 draw at home. Neil Mellor and Stephen Elliott were on target as Preston North End maintained their position at the higher end of the table with a 2-0 home win over Swansea City. Scunthorpe United claimed their first away win of the season in some style after a thumping 4-0 victory at Crystal Palace. Nottingham Forest preserved their unbeaten away record following a 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough. Nicky Maynard netted a second-half equaliser as Bristol City fought back to claim a point in a 1-1 stalemate at Coventry City. Brendan Rodgers is still waiting for his first home win as Reading manager following a frustrating 0-0 draw with Doncaster Rovers at the Madejski Stadium.
