Boyd aims to build on maiden strike

Middlesbrough striker Kris Boyd is hoping the floodgates will open after scoring his first goal for the club. The 27-year-old Scotland international's 52nd-minute strike against Sheffield United was enough to secure Boro's first npower Championship victory of the season. Boyd, who was prolific for former club Rangers during his four-and-a-half-years at Ibrox, told the club's official website: "It's always good to get off the mark in a new season and to get three points is a bonus. "Nine times out of 10, that's what happens as a striker, you just have to keep getting yourself into positions to take these chances. "As long as chances are there, you don't get frustrated. When there aren't, frustration does build. "But there are aspects of my game I need to tidy up on. I'm looking to work on few things - it's the same for the team as well. I need to improve and we need to improve as a team."
