Boss bemoans decisions

Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan queried the officials following his side's 2-1 defeat at Millwall in the Carling Cup second round. The Lions' opener came from the penalty spot after Matthew Kilgallon was adjudged to have brought down Alan Dunne. The referee had originally not given the penalty before his assistant flagged, and Strachan believes he should have taken responsibility and stuck with his own decision. "I`m not sure whether it was a penalty, but the referee was close and he originally hadn`t given it," said Strachan. "I get paid more than my backroom staff because I make decisions and face people. "If you are five yards away and you decide it`s not a penalty and you follow your linesman who is 15 yards away, I think it's a lack of responsibility."
