Middlesbrough have completed the signing of South Korea striker Lee Dong-Gook after the player was granted a work permit.
The 27-year-old, who has scored 22 goals in 64 appearances for his country, has signed a deal running until the end of next season at the Riverside to seal his switch from Pohang Steelers.
Manager Gareth Southgate is looking forward to seeing his new star in action, telling the club's official website: "He's had fitness tests and they have been positive.
"He's been training with us and he's enjoyed that. I'm looking forward to seeing him test himself in the Premier League.
"It would be a great challenge to him. He could be an exciting player for us."
Meanwhile, Boro have confirmed that veteran defender Ugo Ehiogu has been released, with the centre-back set to join Rangers.
Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has also left the club.
