Middlesbrough defender Emanuel Pogatetz is a major doubt for the FA Cup sixth round replay at Manchester United, but boss Gareth Southgate will give the Austrian until the last possible moment to prove his fitness.
Pogatetz picked up a knee injury in the home defeat to Manchester City and faces a race against time to be fit enough to play in the Old Trafford replay.
Southgate told the Evening Gazette: "Manny has got bruising to nerves behind his knee.
"It's nowhere near as bad as it could have been but the Manchester United replay obviously comes on us very quickly.
"If Manny had a few days to rest it then maybe there'd be no problems. We'll just have to see how it responds and give him as long as we possibly can.
"Julio (Arca) has a groin problem which flared up a bit last week. It's going to be another late decision."
