Boro still unsure over Huth

Middlesbrough are still waiting to discover the extent of an ankle injury suffered by Robert Huth after revealing the defender is set to see a specialist next week.

Huth, 24, missed last weekend's 1-0 victory over Wigan Athletic with suspected ligament damage and manager Gareth Southgate has confirmed the severity of the problem remains a mystery.

The Germany international has been plagued by ankle problems during his two seasons with the Teessiders.

"Robert is going to see a specialist on Monday and the situation will be clearer after that," said Southgate.

"All we know at the moment is that he has damaged his ankle ligaments."

Meanwhile, Southgate expects to hear more on the state of fellow injury absentee Julio Arca's own injured ankle when he returns to the Riverside Stadium next week.

"Julio is still in Argentina and we are going to asses him further in the middle of next week," he added.
