    Boro revival pleases Woody

    05 Mar 2007 - 15:40:06

Middlesbrough defender Jonathan Woodgate was pleased to grind out another point from a dismal north-east derby clash at Newcastle United.

The goalless stalemate at St James' Park extended Boro's record to one defeat in 14 matches since the turn of the year and Woodgate is delighted with the team's recent improved form.

"As a team I thought we did pretty well," he told Boro's official website. "From a personal point of view, I was pleased with my performance.

"It's important when you come away to games like this that you keep clean sheets and that's exactly what we did.

"It wasn't a classic by any means. Their fans didn't make much noise in the game but our fans were excellent.

"That's what football's all about - it's not always pretty. Sometimes you've just got to grind results out and that's exactly what we did.

"I think we've done really well since the turn of the year. Full credit to the manager, he knows what direction he wants the team to go and he's played the same eleven bar one or two on a regular basis."
