Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate plans to launch an appeal after Fabio Rochemback was sent off in Tuesday's pre-season clash against Hertha Berlin.
The Brazilian midfielder was red carded after clashing with Pal Dardai as Boro held on to draw 1-1 with the German side.
"I don't want to say too much because we're going to try and appeal against the red card," Southgate told Boro's official website.
"It was friendly game and we're coming here to have an exercise. We want to appeal against it if we can."
Southgate was pleased with the overall display of his team though, adding: "I thought particularly in the first half we had lots of good movement, we created three or four good positions and our final ball let us down a bit.
"It was a good test for us and there were some really pleasing performances.
"I'm pleased that a lot of the things we've been working on over the last few days, the movement off the line, the movement of the front two, came through. I thought there were lots of positive signs."
