Reports suggest Wigan Athletic striker Marlon King is on the verge of signing for Middlesbrough while Egypt international Mido is set to move in the opposite direction.
Twenty-eight-year-old King is currently on loan at Hull City but is believed to have been sent home by Tigers boss Phil Brown at the weekend.
King was said to be furious after being dropped to the substitute's bench for the Premier League defeat against Arsenal.
It has been reported that King has not been back to the Tigers training camp since the incident.
Earlier this season, the former Gillingham, Watford and Nottingham Forest forward was involved in a fracas with team-mate Dean Windass in a casino in Scarborough.
Mido has said in the past that he would be interested in joining the Latics where he would link up with his international team-mate Amr Zaki.
