Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate has confirmed that he has no plans to sell England Under-21s winger Adam Johnson this summer.
The 20-year-old is seen as a major player for Boro's future, with Southgate keen to calm any possible interest in Johnson from QPR and Rangers.
He told the Evening Gazette: "Despite what has appeared in some papers we have not had a single approach from any club about Adam Johnson.
"We have had absolutely no contact about Adam from either Rangers or QPR, nor do we expect to have any.
"As I have made it clear, he remains a big part in my plans for the club. Adam is a fantastic talent and I do not want to see him leave.
"He could be very, very special and I would not want to see him play for another club."
Johnson has scored two goals in 59 appearances for Boro to date, as well as impressing while on loan at Leeds United and Watford.
