Boro face longer McManus absence

Middlesbrough have confirmed that defender Stephen McManus will be out for around four months following treatment for an ankle injury.The Scotland international underwent a successful operation, but his recovery will take longer than first expected. McManus tore ankle ligaments 39 minutes into Middlesbrough's 2-1 home win over Crystal Palace on 6 November.
