Middlesbrough duo Fabio Rochemback and Massimo Maccarone are both keen to leave the Riverside Stadium in this month's transfer window.
Rochemback is targeting a return to his former club Sporting Lisbon, while Maccarone is keen to move back to Italy.
"I would adore to go back to Sporting," Rochemback told Maisfutebol. "I have spoken to Gareth Southgate and told him this. I have lovely memories of Portugal. It would be very good to go back.
"At this moment Middlesbrough do not want to loan me. They will only agree to sell me. I am not happy that they will not allow me to move on loan."
Meanwhile, Maccarone told Gazzetta dello Sport. "Now I want to change and maybe come back to Italy.
"I'm not perfect and, for sure, I haven't had my best performance, but I've never complained and I've always trained seriously and, when I've played, I gave my best always.
"There are negotiations but, up until now, nothing concrete. At this point, I would like only one thing - faith.
"I don't ask the guarantee to be a regular but I want to play for a place at the same level as the others. Preferences? It's the same. It would be Italy."
