Middlesbrough have confirmed they have tabled an offer for Arsenal full-back Justin Hoyte.
Hoyte, 23, has been linked with the Teessiders for the past few weeks and chairman Steve Gibson has confirmed his club's interest.
Boro are on the lookout for a new right-back after allowing Luke Young to join Aston Villa last week.
Former England Under-21 international Hoyte has been a peripheral figure in the first-team at the Emirates Stadium after stepping up from the youth ranks three seasons ago.
He has made just 34 Premier League appearances for the Gunners after making his debut in May 2003.
"We have submitted a bid and we are waiting for Arsenal to respond," Gibson told Sky Sports News.
"We've given it our best offer and we hope that it happens, but if it doesn't we move on."
