Middlesbrough have wrapped up the £2.5million signing of England right-back Luke Young from Charlton Athletic.
The 28-year-old has passed a medical at the Riverside, with the two clubs having agreed a fee for the defender at the weekend.
Young joined the Addicks in the summer of 2001 for £4million from Tottenham Hotspur and went on to make more than 200 appearances for The Valley outfit.
Charlton boss Alan Pardew had earlier told his club's official website: "I've got a lot of time and respect for Luke and I appreciate where he is in his career he wants to play in the Premier League.
"If a decent club comes in and I thought the fee was right I'd let him go.
"I've brought in a replacement already in Yassin Moutaouakil, who I feel is going to give real competition to Luke whether he stays or not.
"I know that if we don't get the right offer then he'll stay and be as professional as he is. There is no bad feeling and he's not being difficult."
