The Football Association has fined Middlesbrough and Tottenham and warned them as to their future conduct after an incident during the Premiership game between the two clubs at White Hart Lane in December. Spurs players reacted angrily when Boro midfielder George Boateng clattered in to Aaron Lennon in the closing stages of the clash. Both Boateng and Didier Zokora were sent off, although the Boro captain's red card was later overturned on appeal. An FA Disciplinary Commission fined Spurs £8,000, of which half is suspended for 12 months, and warned the north London side as to their future conduct. Boro were also warned and fined £4,000, of which £2,000 is suspended for a year. The clubs both denied charges of failing to ensure that their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.
