Boro winger set to depart
Middlesbrough winger Graeme Owens is set to quit the club this summer as he looks for regular first-team football.[LNB] Highly-rated Owens, 20, has only featured once for Boro after making his debut in the Carling Cup last season.[LNB]Despite featuring prominently during pre-season, Owens has failed to work his way into manager Gareth Southgate's Premier League plans.[LNB]Owens has enjoyed first-team football this season elsewhere though, firstly with Chesterfield and latterly with Championship side Blackpool.[LNB]Boro were keen for Owens to renew his contract, but the Cramlington-born winger thinks he now needs to leave and play football week-in, week-out.[LNB]"'I've loved my time at Boro and I am thankful to the coaching staff Dave Parnaby, Malcolm Crosby and Gareth Southgate," Owens told skysports.com. [LNB]"It's been tough having Stewart Downing and Adam Johnson ahead of me in the pecking order, that would be tough for any player as Stewart and Adam are top class players and arguably the best in the country in that position. [LNB]"I am an out and out winger, I love to take people on and create chances, that's my game."[LNB]Owens is looking to find a side in the Championship or League One and a number of clubs are already believed to have made contact with his representatives.[LNB]
