Boro winger holds Premier ambitions
DESPITE a frustrating start to his career in England, Tarmo Kink has revealed it is his dream to play in the Premier League and believes he can help lead Middlesbrough back into top-flight football.[LNB] Estonian Kink arrived on Teesside in August as Gordon Strachan's sixth summer signing but the winger has endured a mixed start to his Boro career.[LNB] The 24-year-old was unlucky to concede a penalty in the 2-1 Carling Cup defeat against Millwall and just when he was beginning to show what he is capable of, he limped off in the second half of the defeat to Barnsley at the weekend with a knee injury.[LNB] Boro's poor start to the season has been well documented and fans are already venting their frustration, but Kink insists the players are working hard to turn it around and all share the goal of getting the side back to the Premier League.[LNB] Of course it's a dream of mine to play in the Premier League but it's like that for lots of the guys here, said Kink.[LNB] We all want the same thing so of course it would be very good if we could get promoted.[LNB] I was very excited to come to English football but I've been here for four weeks now so the excitement is over and now I've got to put in the hard work to play well and win games.[LNB] I'm pleased with how it's gone so far in the two games I've played. We won the first one against Chesterfield but the second we lost and we didn't play well and it's important we do, but the team is finding each other.[LNB] We are meeting lots of new guys and we will start to get better and better as time goes.[LNB] It was disappointing to go out of the cup but we need to concentrate on the league.[LNB] The Teessiders have a difficult few fixtures coming up, with matches against QPR, Reading and Burnley all to come.[LNB] Kink admits Boro need to find a winning combination of results and performances.[LNB] He said: If we can put the result from the Sheffield United game and performance from the Millwall game together we will find the right mix to win games.[LNB] We have a very new team with lots of new faces and it takes time to get to know each other but hopefully we can get better and better and if we keep improving we will find our perfect game and then we can be a top team in the Championship.[LNB] Kink has enjoyed a good scoring record wherever he has played, including an impressive 35 goals in 80 games for Levadia Tallinn, and the wide man hopes he can continue that for his new team.[LNB] I have a good scoring record for my clubs but it's much easier when you have good players around you and of course I get confidence from that.[LNB] I've played in Russia and Hungary and now I'm at Middlesbrough so hopefully my experience can help me do well here.[LNB] Everybody will judge me from my shooting and also my crosses and I hope the fans will like me.[LNB] They have been very good with me so far and it has given me more confidence so hopefully I can give something back to them and help the team do well.[LNB] I hope they see I'm a good player and not just somebody from Estonia.[LNB] Despite his injury, Kink must still travel to link up with the Estonia squad for their Euro 2012 qualifier against Italy tomorrow and the left-winger knows his country will be up against it when they take on the former World Cup winners.[LNB] Of course every game for our national team is very hard and this will be the same, he said. Maybe against teams like Andorra, Ireland and San Marino it's not so hard but Italy will be very hard for us.[LNB] But we have an experienced team and last year, we were in a World Cup qualifying group with Spain so we know what to expect.[LNB]
