DARLINGTON have signed talented young forward Nathan Porritt on loan from Championship side Middlesbrough. Colin Todd has been keen to bolster his options with the North East side struggling in League Two after back-to-back defeats. Porritt, who can operate as a winger or striker, will spend the next 28 days at the Darlington Arena. Todd's assistant Dean Windass confirmed that the England Under-19 international was in contention for Tuesday's home clash with Crewe. "We want competition for places. He's come in on a 28-day loan, just to see how he is. He's played reserve team football for Middlesbrough." "It gives the lads an opportunity to kick-start their football career. Don't play reserve team football, play first-team football and he'll get the opportunity at Darlington. He will be available for tomorrow tonight."
