Middlesbrough misfit Afonso Alves is set to join Qatar club Al-Ahli. West Brom have signed Leicester's England Under 21 left back Joe Mattock in a £1.5m deal. Blackpool have snapped up Oldham's Wales right back Neal Eardley in a £200,000 deal and handed winger Ishmel Demontagnac, 21, a one-year deal after a trial. Southampton manager Alan Pardew has targeted Luton striker Tom Craddock, 22. Chester City have called off today's Blue Square Premier match against Grays. They were deducted 25 points this week, following a recent spell in voluntary administration, and the FA have told the Conference they are breaching rules by allowing them to play. Chester, owned by the Vaughan family, have been struggling to secure accreditation to the FA.
