Blades to kick-off the season

Sheffield United will launch the new Championship season at Middlesbrough in front of the television cameras on Friday, August 7. The Blades' opening-day clash at the Riverside has been brought forward 24 hours and will be screened live on Sky Sports. United's first game last season was also chosen to be shown live when Kevin Blackwell's side went down to a last-minute Kevin Phillips' goal against Birmingham at St Andrews.
