Benfica in talks over £10m move for Middlesbrough striker Alves
Benfica are lining up a summer swoop for Middlesbrough striker Afonso Alves.
The Portuguese club are reported to be in talks with the Brazil striker's agent Roberto Tiburcio.
Boro hope to recoup at least £10million after shelling out £12m to sign Alves from Dutch club Heerenveen in January last year.
The 28-year-old's form has been mixed and he has struggled to secure a regular starting place at the Riverside.
The reduced price could still prove too much for a player who has scored 13 goals in 42 appearances for the Teesside club.
