Barnsley 2-0 Middlesbrough

MIDDLESBROUGH are still looking for their first away win of the season after losing 2-0 to Barnsley at Oakwell.[LNB] Goals from Jason Shackell and Adam Hammill in either half saw off Boro, with the away fans booing their team off at the final whistle.[LNB] Scott McDonald had the best chance to put the away side ahead when he met Barry Robson's right sided cross but his header hit the post.[LNB] Despite the away side looking the most likely to break the deadlock, it was the home side who took the lead in the 28th minute.[LNB] A Kieran Trippier corner from the left was met by Jaason Shackell, who rose above David Wheater and powered his header past keeper Jason Steele.[LNB] The second half proved frustrating for Boro, with Tarmo Kink enjoying Boro's best chance, but the home side almost doubled their lead when Adam Hammill walzed through from the left and shot low but Jason Steele saved well.[LNB] As the game went on, Boro failed to carve out any real chances, and Barnsley eventually put the game beyond Strachan's side when Adam Hammill shimmied through the Boro defence and finished well past Steele in added on time.[LNB]
