Disappointment: Gordon Strachan[LNB]Middlesbrough manager Gordon Strachan couldn't hide his disappointed after his misfiring side came unstuck away to improving Barnsley.[LNB] Goals from defender Jason Shackell, his first in Tykes' colours, and an injury-time strike from winger Adam Hammill did the trick as the hosts denied Boro their first win at Oakwell for 16 years.[LNB] "We're disappointed to have made so many chances and not getanything," reflected Strachan, whose side completed a miserable weekhaving been dumped out of the Carling Cup on Tuesday night by Millwall. [LNB] "I thought we had a better start than them [Barnsley], but they scored the goal at the right time.[LNB] "They're dogged, determined and they've got some good players. Theyplayed well, but we made enough chances to get something from it [thematch].[LNB] Tykes keeper Luke Steele had a good afternoon between the posts andStrachan added: "He [Steele] did very well. He must be pleased withhimself.[LNB] "People tend to forget that our four best passers of the ball are missing. We were know where near as good as we can be.[LNB] "There's no doubt the longer you keep the ball the better you are, but the ones that played gave it a right good shot, so I can't complain at that."[LNB] Parsley boss Mark Robins was delighted with his side's victory as the Tykes stretched their recent league unbeaten run to three matches.[LNB] Robins, whose team have now collected seven points from a possible ten in their last three outings, praised: "I'm absolutely delighted because I thought we were excellent from start to finish. It was a great display.[LNB] "Middlesbrough are one of the favourites to go up, so it's always difficult for club's like ourselves to compete against them.[LNB] "We can't compete with them in the transfer market, that's for sure, but we certainly competed out there and were good value for the win.[LNB] "They improved in the second half and put us under a lot more pressure, but we defended well when it mattered the most.[LNB] "We created lots of chances and could have won by more.[LNB] "I thought we dealt with their strikeforce really well - and they've got two top strikers."
