Arca - Division has quality

Middlesbrough midfielder Julio Arca admits the standard of football in the Coca-Cola Championship has improved since he last played in it. The 28-year-old Argentinian had two seasons in the division during his six-year spell at Sunderland and picked up a title medal at the end of the 2004/05 campaign. Arca said: "You see teams getting promotion and then coming down and some of the players stay with those teams - if you see Newcastle, they have plenty of quality players. "I know last year they didn't do well but the quality is still there, some of the players have stayed there, so that brings quality to the Championship when players stay with the team. "It is still as physical as always but you see teams like Doncaster and Swansea, they try to play better football now - it's not long balls all the time. "You are going to have teams you play against who are going to play long balls and that kind of football but some of the other teams like to play football and it's nice to play against teams who try to play some football."
